30 March 2009

Last Wednesday (the 25th) was my birthday. Husband tried to surprise me by taking me to Tucanos after I got out of my evening class, but he's not as sneaky as he tried to be. Even though I figured it out, it was still delicious. Don't worry, I made sure that all the meat I ate was very well-done.

On Friday we had a few friends over for dinner and a movie. Remember Peter and Ruth? They cooked again - lemon garlic chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, jello salad, lemon apple cream pie...yum. Carli and Pat came, too, and Carli (who is also my Visiting Teacher) brought me this adorable onesie in size 3-6 months. She was sad that we don't know what we're having yet because that meant she had to shop in the gender-neutral section and she loves the gender-specific clothes! :)

Speaking of that, I went to the doctor this morning. I'm measuring right on track at 18 weeks. The heartbeat is still strong and steady (thank goodness). The ultrasound is in a couple of weeks.

Last week I finally got some maternity clothes - they are SO much more comfortable! Most of my shirts are still fine, but I've been using the rubberband-around-the-button trick for quite a while and it was getting ridiculous. Yay for stretch-panel jeans! I borrowed two pairs of pants, one dress, and several shirts from my friend Brittany, and bought a couple of pairs of pants of my own.

Other than all of that, it's just life as normal around here. School gets out in a few weeks. I'm ready to be done with these classes. I'm taking two classes in the spring, as well. Should be fun...

Great update! I wish I could see your cute little pregnant self. I'll bet your adorable. Love the onesie, too. Baby clothes are just too cute. I love maternity clothes, too. Well, at least I'm grateful for them. Until I get so enormous that there is nothing in the world that can help me feel cute. :) Such is life, right? Will you be finding out what you're having or are you going to be surprised? I've always wanted to be surprised, but I'm too impatient.

Happy Birthday! Sorry I missed it. It's so much fun reading you talking in pregnant speech. (Did that make any sense?) I'm excited to find out what you're having!
