SO I was tagged for something almost exactly like this more than a year ago on a different blog before I got married and started this one. I'm copy-and-pasting, but I'll add in some edits and such in a different color. This tag was to tell 6 random things about myself. Since most of those things were quirks anyways, I figure it counts :)
--------
1. When I eat, I chew my first bite with the left side of my mouth, and the second with the right side, and back and forth. I have to make sure that I will eat my last bite with the right side, even if I have to divide what's left into tiny bites. [It drives me nuts if this pattern somehow gets interrupted. I MUST bring balance back to the force! And by the force, I mean my existence.]
2. I always start walking with my left foot. I count my steps, too. Too much marching band in high school, I think. But I did this before that, so... [Are we noticing a pattern yet? BALANCE.]
3. I do things in multiples or 8, or more accurately, powers of 2. Eight is just my favorite [and since 8 is a power of 2, all multiples of 8 are also powers of 2, and therefore GOOD]. For example, if I'm eating something like Goldfish crackers or M&Ms, I get 8 at a time. I can eat 1 set of 8 (2^0) or 2 sets of 8 (2^1) or 4 sets of 8 (2^2) or 8 sets of 8 (2^3), but not 3 sets or 5 sets or 6 sets....you get the idea. So I can do something 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 (etc) times, but not 24 or 48 or 96, even though these are all multiples of 8. [My husband thinks it's hilarious to kiss me three times in a row and then dodge my efforts to get a fourth. IT KILLS ME. He plays the same game with 7.] [TMI?? sorry] [Also, I just realized that it is weird that I like 8 the most (2^3), but I don't like 3...I'll just call this another quirk. Even though I have finally (and I mean finally, it's taken forever) realized that this is weird, it doesn't change my feelings about the number 8.] [I'm so strange.]
4. I love to visit old cemeteries and could get lost in one for hours. I find them peaceful and calming, not creepy. If it is a cemetery where some of my ancestors are buried, I try to find them and remember how we are related. If it is a random cemetery, I like to look for the oldest grave I can find, or I read all the poems carved on the stones. They're really awesome poems, all about love and hope. [I haven't done this in a couple of months...I think a trip to Heber is in order!] [Heber City is this little bitty town here in Utah about an hour from where I live. Both of my mom's parents grew up there, and their families had been there for generations...I love that town, and the cemetery is simply wonderful.]
5. I have a stubborn streak a mile wide. [I deleted a bunch of stuff here because it isn't relevant right now. BUT I do have a stubborn streak, just ask Husband.]
6. I'm a bit of a clean freak when it comes to the kitchen. I can't explain it, it's just how it is. If the kitchen is dirty, I can't stand to be in it to cook, so I don't eat. When I have my own kitchen, it will always be clean. [I do ok at this, usually. But sometimes school catches up to me, and I find myself slacking...It's clean right now, though! And for the record, I still don't eat when it's not clean, because it still drives me absolutely crazy, and I hate it hate it hate it even when I don't have time to fix it.]
--------
EDIT(s):
(1) I originally had all my new comments in red, but then I published it and looked at it and it CLASHED HORRIBLY with my background, so I had to change it. I guess that's another quirk. (RE-EDIT: I think I have changed the color almost EVERYTIME I have changed my background.)
(2) Go look at the dash marks separating the sections of this post. You will notice that there are always exactly 8 of them.

As far as tagging goes, I tag everybody who reads this, partly because I know there aren't many, and partly because I'm not really sure who they are...So if you read this and want to participate, go for it!

Okay Kathryn on the 8 thing, can you say OCD?! Just teasing! We all have little quirks, my problem is that my memory is so terrible, I don't ever remember doing anything odd!
