Oh no, not me. Don't worry about that. I mean, I can do a couple of things with tools (like switch which side the fridge door opens from in the middle of the night as a prank) but not much. No, it's Husband, as usual.
One of my mom's cousins sent us a really cool wedding gift: a type of "giftcard" that we could use to select any one of quite a few items. The item would then be shipped straight to our front door! We selected a tool kit and have used it several times.
My favorite use, of course, was when Ruth and I (she's one of my former roommates, and quite the prankster! Let's just say she's rubbed off on me a bit in the last few years) switched the fridge door one night when she came over to talk. Husband went to bed...poor thing. :)
Ok, so that was an unnecessary tangent. I just like the story.
Another time Husband used the tool kit to fix the hutch we have in our living room. It has 3 shelves (containing the TV, PS2, DVD player, and VCR) and 2 drawers (containing our movies, CDs, and video games). Unfortunately, it was a bit tilted backwards because the "feet" on the bottom were messed up...I'm not sure how Husband fixed it, but he did. Apparently hooking up the various electronic devices and fixing the hutch made him feel really "manly." He even claimed it was worthy of a post, but he never got around to writing it...Since it was a few weeks ago, I decided I'd do it for him.
Tonight the tool box is being used again. We just acquired an A/C window unit (thank GOODNESS... it was really starting to get too hot around here to not have any A/C. Last week it was in the 70s, this week it's been in the 90s every day, and usually the upper 90s). So of course there was lots to be done to get it installed. I helped by holding a couple of things in place, but I really didn't do much. We even had to go to Lowe's to get some cinderblocks to make sure it wouldn't fall out backwards! But we have A/C now, and it's great!!! Here are a couple of pictures for your enjoyment.

Great work! Enjoy the AC!
Thank goodness for our men! I know I'd be in a mess without Cory. :)
Instructions...lame. hehe :)
Yay for air!!
But I don't quite get where the cinderblocks come into play...
Oh my goodness, Kathryn! I'm reading this at work and busted out laughing at your "caught in the act" caption. It's so true though, isn't it?! I love it and yay for air! We need to talk soon, I hope things are continuing to go well for you. SOrry about your car - Much love!
